In Memory: Coretta Scott King
I read yesterday that Coretta Scott King, the widow of Martin Luther King Jr., passed away in the early hours of the day. She had been in ill-health since suffering a stroke last August ago.After her husband's death in 1968, Mrs. King continued to campaign for civil rights and non-violent social change. In 1969 she founded the Martin Luther King Jr Centre for Non-violent Social Change in Atlanta and in 1986 her husband's January birthday was recognised as a national holiday.
