8th Lagos Book & Art Festival

Deji told me about this and I have been reading snippets about it in the papers in the last week or so. The Committee for Relevant Art (CORA) will be organising the 8th Lagos Book and Art Festival in the gardens of the National Museum, Onikan from September 14 to 17. It looks like it will be fun and a wonderful experience for all book and art lovers.

The CORA blog has the full schedule for the program.

The first day will feature the opening of the concurrent 2nd Lagos Comics & Cartoons Carnival, which should definitely be interesting.

Friday will feature a roundtable discussion titled What Do Women Write about the female narrative voice in Nigerian fiction. Damn! It's times like this that I miss my Friday CDs. Hmmmm, I feel a sick day coming on. LOL!!!!!

LMAO!!!!! Yes, oh! I really miss Friday CDs - I cannot lie.

The details about the book and art festival should be available on the CORA blog. If not, you can try posting there or email cora2stamp@yahoo.co.uk or call Jahman on 0802.201.6495.

My sis bought a copy of Half of a Yellow Sun when she travelled, but I have no doubt that it should soon be available in the bookstores here.

Adunni, the Festival and its events are mainly an open house thing. You are always welcome to participate. The idea is to create a culture picnic, sort of family fanfair with heavy book content. You should be seeing fliers and IVs in major event venues/ malls in Lagos anytime this week. Catchya there.

Helen (I suppose the last comment to be Helen's), I saw that you posted your comment in the afternoon of Satruday 16th, meaning that we had aready discussed your book some twenty-four hrs or so at the time of your post. In the absence of Mowunmi Segun who was to moderate, I moderated the session and you were the only one of the four writers whose book was discussed that wasnt on the panel. You should be reading reviews of the session and other events of the festival in the papers (or the Net) from now. Meanwhile, you may visit http://stampedecora.blogspot.com/ for some snippets from the Fsetival. Deji
